I started this about 3 or 4 months ago, but progress hit a brick wall when my poor old PC couldn't hack it any more with Photoshop and files which were even vaguely detailed. 250 quid, new hardware and a disk reformat later, I've been back on track and this one (amongst a few others still in line) is finally complete. This is entirely from memory (besides the Kanji) with no sources used (again, except for the kanji). This is the second image I've done using this comic book shading style (which I believe is dubbed 'cuts'). I feel it is a vast improvement upon my picture of Rockett which I did a good 6 months back. If you would like to see how it looked before it was coloured - [link] there you go.
UPDATE: If you would like to see The Samurai with a proper background, here is the link [link] I seriously recommend you view it as thats the way it was meant to look. Daily DeviationGiven 2005-01-15It sounds like The Samurai by ~Captain-Fry took a lot of effort to create. It was worth it... (Suggested by ~the-sohi and Featured by +ekud) |

Awesome work on the armour.

The colouring makes it stand out most, I think, in the way that you've used the black lines of lineart for shading also- makes him look more solid and intimidating.
In all, I love this! It's beautiful work. Congrats on the DD and keep up the wonderful drawing!

~RoninGaleria My comments carry honesty 98% of the time, bear this in mind.
it is truly gr8 piece to look at...
one question: why did you use the word "pain" in the flag and not any other? Just for interests sake
the flags looks great but the symbol dosent really flow with the flag it self
